Green Network Energy Review Summary
Green Network Energy is an Italian energy provider that was founded in 2003 and later brought its services to UK customers. While they might not be one of the big 6 providers Green Network Energy have proven themselves to be a popular alternative.
Despite having over a decade in the energy business Green Network Energy is a relatively new name in the UK energy market. They only brought their services to the UK in 2017 so have only built-up a small customer base at present.
They offer both gas and electricity and have a simple tariff system that I think will appeal to people who find the energy process confusing and as a plus, they also offer 100% renewable energy as well. Let’s take a closer look at how they operate with my Green Network Energy review.
What tariffs do Green Network Energy offer?
There are variable and fixed tariffs available at Green Network Energy but they can be sorted into four main types that are detailed on their website. There is a fixed plan for 12 months and one for 18 months, the 18-month plan also offers 100% renewable energy.
There is also a standard variable plan and a variable plan that is prepayment only. There may be other plans available depending on where you live, which you can again check on their website but they are variations of these four main tariffs.
Although both single and dual plans are available as well, so if you want to see how much they will cost for you-you’ll need to search a bit more thoroughly. Business tariffs are a little more complex although there is a dedicated section for businesses on the Green Network Energy website.
As part of my Green Network Energy review, I’ve found it useful to list some key facts and information for you to consider below.
- There are four main tariff types with variations are available depending on where you live.
- One tariff does offer 100% renewable energy.
- Most tariffs are direct debit only.
- Single and dual plans are available and there are separate plans for businesses.
How do Green Network Energy compare on price?
Because it’s still relatively new to the UK energy market there isn’t a lot of information about how Green Network Energy compare on price. Money Supermarket’s small piece on them did highlight that many customers seemed to be happy with their pricing.
However, a look at TrustPilot shows that might not be entirely accurate at least not anymore. While Green Network Energy still had a high score a string of recent poor reviews have lowered their rating and many of these reviews complain about the price.
Some grievances seem to be misunderstandings over the payment methods for the tariffs however other customers claim to have been given inaccurate quotes which have led to unexpected costs and others have mentioned trouble getting refunds when they are in credit. So, while their prices seem to be quite reasonable there does seem to be a pattern of problems when it comes to pricing.
What is Green Network Energy customer service like?
Data is again a bit sparse when it comes to Green Network Energy’s customer service leaving us to turn to TrustPilot to see what we can gauge. Unfortunately, it looks like my Green Network Energy review may have caught this provider at a bad time because many recent reviews complain about poor customer service, especially long wait times.
One positive however is that Green Network Energy does seem to be handling the problem and responding to many of the reviews. To quote one of their responses directly they explain that “In the last few weeks our email and call volumes have been considerably higher than usual and recognise that, as a result of this, the time you wait for a response from our team can be longer”
If we go further back we can see a number of the reviews do highlight the positive customer service as well. So, it looks like Green Network Energy’s customer service team may just be experiencing difficulties at the moment that will hopefully be dealt with soon.
What do other Green Network Energy reviews say?
With just over a 1000 reviews (at the time of writing) on TrustPilot Green Network Energy have a total score of 7.1 and 4 stars in total. It’s a good score but like I mentioned earlier an influx of recent negative reviews could be a cause of concern for some.
Unfortunately, we don’t have much else to go on in regards to reviews as other popular sites like Which and the Citizen’s Advice don’t have any information at the moment. There are some reviews on Google but they don’t give much information and seem to be a rather mixed bag. But if you are considering switching to Green Network Energy they may be worth checking out.
What is Green Network Energy website/app like?
Green Network Energy’s website is the unusual hybrid of good and bad in my opinion. It has some great features and parts of it are excellent while other areas are more jumbled and disorganised. Navigation is relatively easy thanks to the side menu but certain pages are little overloaded with text and images and I personally think the website would benefit with a more minimal look.
However, accessing the user portal and the help and support section is quick and easy. The user platform allows you to do quite a lot as well check out this part of the help section to see all the things you can do on it.
One touch that I really like is that if you don’t press anything on the website after a while it will change to a screen-saver designed to allow your monitor to consume less energy. It doesn’t really offer any other benefits but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t impressed.
Green Network Energy do also have an app for both IOS and Android devices but unfortunately, it seems to be very buggy. The reviews are pretty much overwhelming negative, some recent reviews confirm things have been improved and bugs have been fixed but it might have been a little too late.
