Who EDF Pod Point Plug & Power is most likely to work for
Pod Point Plug & Power can be a practical route into home charging for an EV owner who wants a Solo 3S and is comfortable spreading part of the cost over two years. The overnight tariff is useful, but the charger arrangement is the real reason this product needs its own review.
It is a poor comparison against an electricity-only deal if the hardware commitment has been ignored. Check installation suitability, the full charger payment terms and the consequences of moving or leaving early before putting too much weight on the off-peak rate.
Pod Point Plug & Power is not just an electricity tariff. EDF and Pod bundle it with a Pod Point Solo 3S home charger: the customer pays a reduced upfront amount and spreads the remaining charger cost over a two-year fixed tariff.

How EDF Pod Point Plug & Power sets its prices
The electricity part is a repeating two-rate tariff. Electricity used from 11pm to 6am is billed at the off-peak rate, while use outside the window is billed at the day rate. Both are fixed for the two-year tariff term.
The product also gives the customer a route to buy a Pod Point Solo 3S charger for a lower upfront payment, with the remaining charge-point cost spread through the two-year arrangement. That is why this should be compared as an energy-and-hardware commitment, not only against another night rate.
EDF says a fully connected smart meter with half-hourly readings is required for its EV tariffs. The charger is compatible with all EV makes and models, but installation requirements and any extra works are assessed separately by Pod.
The current bundle includes a five-year warranty covering the charger and installation. EDF says 90% of customers qualify for its standard installation, but that is not a guarantee for a particular property.
